I'm Zach Strouts, and I love this game.
I'm an avid golfer and a member of Minneapolis Golf Club, and golf has been part of my life for 30 years. I grew up in St. Louis Park, live in Minnetonka, and have been with Engel & Völkers since our Minnesota doors opened in 2015. If you want to live near a club, I can help you find the right home and give you a straight answer on what it's like.
I'm also part of Golf Life Navigators, a service that helps avid golfers choose a club and a golf community home. It's a great place to start if you're comparing clubs.

Tips for buying near a golf course
Buying the home and joining the club are separate
A house near a private club doesn't come with a membership. Each club has its own process, and some take time. Ask about it before you fall in love with a home.
Stand in the backyard during play
Walk the lot while people are on the course. You'll see how close the shots land, how much privacy you get and how much cart traffic goes by.
Look at the view at different times of day
Morning and evening light can change a yard. Check which way the home faces and where the sun sits over the course.
Ask what you'll pay beyond the mortgage
Find out about association dues, club costs and any assessments up front, so the monthly number doesn't surprise you.
